Owned by the world’s top emeralds and rubies-miner Gemfields Plc., Faberge is the latest luxury brand to enter India, says reports. The iconic brand is looking at tapping the indian market which is lately producing more billionaires than Japan, says reports.

"With growing economy and wealth, India has become an important market for us. In the past, Faberge had served to many Indian royalties with eternal jewelleries and objet d'art. We have come to the country for the first time to show case a few of our exquisite pieces, including jewellery, timepieces and objet d'art for the Indian connoisseur and explore possibilities to set up business here," Faberge CEO Sean Gilbertson told here.

The brand will select its products by select trunk shows for the uber-rich in Delhi and Mumbai. The jeweller, which retails through 39 multi-brand outlets including Mayfair and Harrods will hold more such trunk shows in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Products sold in India include a selection of coloured gemstones, emeralds rubies, and sapphires, and timepieces including the award-winning Lady Compliquee peacock watch. Prices range from $5000 to $3 million, says reports.

Owned by the world's top emeralds and rubies-miner Gemfields Plc, Faberge has directly-operated retail outlets across New York, London (Mayfair & Harrods) and Geneva.
