Her Story is a reflection of a woman’s ideas and aspirations, a precious expression of what is dear to her and who she is as a person. Unique, undefined, unboxed and interesting. To celebrate this spirit, Her Story presents a unique property called Life Stories – discovering people who have not only made a mark, but are also unafraid to bare their soul. Life Stories discovers parts of women that the world doesn’t see.

The first edition of Life Stories by Her Story unfolded at the Her Story boutique in Mumbai with actor, mother, humanitarian and author Lisa Ray. The book reading of her recently published autobiography, Close to the Bone, powered an evening of reflective conversations. Lisa Ray enthralled and moved the audience with her powerful words. Just before the book signing, she mentioned that she would soon begin a journey that is her true purpose – to be an author, with 3 upcoming books.

This edition was moderated by Sangita Kathiwada and attended by a range of close friends, including Anuradha Parikh, founder and artistic director, G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture, documentary filmmaker Roopa Barua, actor Madhoo Shah, ad maven Ashok Kurien, media personality and author Anish Trivedi, owner of Mudd Salon and Spa Aleena Jetha, independent writer Geeta Rao and Milika Hariani, entrepreneurs Smiti Kanodia and Swati Kathiwada, owner and CEO of Masque restaurant Aditi Dugar, and photographer Shilpa Mukerji.

The anecdotes and discussions encouraged the audience to share real, unfiltered stories about sensibility, choices, societal perceptions, resilience, and purpose. Her Story will continue to unveil many such editions in the future, as a platform for women’s achievements and their stories.
