Firmly entrenched within the history and heritage of Hyderabad, the City of Nawabs, Kishandas & Co brings jewels and precious people together in a commemorative campaign to celebrate: India’s Precious People.  A salutary photo shoots with celebrated Indians who are leaders in their field of expertise.
Women and men who have smashed the glass ceiling, taking their persona to heights never conquered before. Their success story becomes a testimony to their sheer talent, grit and honest perseverance.
 
This campaign is an ode to the grand patriarch of this brand, Kishandas ji who, even today in his 80s can sketch a brilliant piece of jewellery. Not to forget his sharp eye that recognizes a precious jewel from a mile.
1.       Jayshri Burman: To the arts born and surrounded by a family full of artists, Jayasri Burman  personifies the aesthetic refinement of Kala Bhavan, Shanti Niketan that she is a protege of. Her works combine the vibrant hues of Company School and the mystical world inhabited by goddesses and demons. A front runner of the contemporary Indian art movement, hers is a rooted sensibility with a hint of the mystical adding a spiritual tone to her work.  The first in the series titled India's Precious People; Jayasri (@jayashriburman) combines her solid black Kanjeevaram with a stunning ruby string that is accentuated with two beautiful pendants. Set in stones as precious as her art and as evolved as her inborn Zen for aesthetics.
 
2.      Anu Bajaj: Anu Bajaj (@anubajaj1) is a famed art gallerist and founder of Gallery Art Positive. She promotes contemporary artists as well as well-known folk artists. Her much awaited annual show on spirituality is a coming together of the finest works that celebrate the ephemeral world on inner belief. Resonating with her pristine white structured sari are the temple jewels in gold nakshi work that combine the crafts of polki, a signature design of Kishandas & Co.


3.      Shivani Wazir: Sheer wit, charisma, effervescence and a pulsating stage presence defines this actor of gravitas and MC of intellect. Shivani Wazir (@shivaniwpasrich), theatre actor, Odissi dancer, educationist, activist and commentator and a promoter of polo Shivani is the proud mother of two. Her conservation project, “I am the Tiger” enjoys multiple initiatives having travelled extensively to spread awareness about conservation through performance, art and sport. Shivani has also made a film, “Girls are Gold” which speaks about eradicating discrimination against the girl child in our society. There are several hats that Shivani has donned over the years, all reflecting her creative and vibrant versatility, that enjoy an underlying positive tenor. Her most endearing of roles being at the Helm of The Study, a preschool started by her dynamic mother in law.
 
4.      Eka Lakhani: Eka Lakhani, @ekalakhani stylist to the stars and a stylish young girl. Here she throws new shine on traditional jewellery using her styling prowess to curate an edgy and sharp look with western silhouettes and styles. Adding preciousness to her white, power suit, she wears a very traditional chand bali and statement ring.
5.      Vedika Mohan: It started with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Styling from Istituto Marangoni, London to a stint with Vogue, India in Mumbai. Her passion for fashion and everything to do with lifestyle made her venture into Creative Direction. Designing sets for designers like Rahul Mishra, to curating shoots for The Wedding Design Company, she made her foray into weddings. Vedika designs, plans and styles events and weddings as the Creative Director of The Wedding Design Company.  Vedika does full justice to her polki choker detailed with emeralds.
6.      Vandana Mohan: Singularly responsible for putting the grandeur of Indian weddings on the world map, Vandana Mohan (@vandanamohan_wdc) is known for creating timeless, iconic and resplendent festivities envisioning and designing
some of the most unforgettable weddings across the world. The melange of fabric, flowers and different crafts and technology, weddings designed by Vandana are a visual treat. She wears a Kishandas Panchlada over her amber coloured silk ensemble to perfection.


7. Archana Kumari: The Rani of Badnore, a mystical tiny town next to Ajmer, Archana Kumari grew up in the culture rich Avadh as a young princess of Pratapgarh. An accomplished writer, a keen collector and qualified in the intricate business of silver smithing, Archana steered the heritage brand Frazer and Haws' arrival in India. Known to craft for the Queen in UK, the brand was a success story in the business of luxury gifting. It is with this experience in tow that she has now brought alive the brand House of Badnore. Borrowing from imperial iconography of horses, hoofs, game and chivalry she creates scarves, buttons, cuff links for men and shawls, travel jewels and home collectibles for women. The beauty of the brand emerged in its packaging and presentation. On her neck graces like a dream, the Kishandas classic cultured  pearl string enhanced with a pendant in diamonds  and emeralds and  a pair of pearl studded bangles.
