The All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council has launched the 12th edition of its jewellery design competition, the National Jewellery Awards. The initiative is designed to uplift Indian jewellery design, manufacturing, and retail talent and its finale will take place on October 1 in Mumbai.
For its 12th edition, the NJA will feature six award segments which will be further divided into 34 sub-categories. These categories will span the full gem and jewellery industry value chain to recognise the achievements of workers across the breadth of the sector. The awards will be judged by a panel of renowned industry experts, according to the GJC.
“The immensely successful and recognised NJA Awards have emphasised brilliant aspects catering to every vital selection of the industry,” said NJA convenor Avinash Gupta, the GJC announced on Facebook. “This is a great opportunity for talented jewellers from across the country to showcase their work and be recognised.”
“NJA 2023 will stimulate growth and facilitate progress of the gem and jewellery industry,” said the GJC’s chairman Saiyam Mehra, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “NJA nurtures creativity and honours innovation while showcasing the best of India. It inspires passion, craftsmanship and devotion to the art and science of ‘Make in India’ jewellery manufacturing and retailing.”
