The Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association (SGJIA) hosted a vibrant Diwali get-together for members and their families on November 6, 2024, celebrating the festival while honoring two of the industry’s most respected figures. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Shri Navratan Ji Kothari and Shri Prem Narain Ji Gupta in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to the gems and jewellery sector.
The celebration was warmly hosted by SGJIA leadership, with President Arvind Gupta, Secretary Jaideep Gupta, and Vice President Anand Rao welcoming guests. The program was orchestrated by Abhishek Sand, bringing the community together in a memorable celebration.
SGJIA, founded 18 years ago, has grown into a pivotal association for Jaipur’s jewellery community, with 133 active members. Sitapura itself has emerged as one of India’s premier gems and jewellery hubs, bolstered by last year’s impressive export volume of Rs.5,500 crores. Supporting approximately 40,000 workers, including 2,000 women, the industry plays a crucial role in local employment, making Sitapura Rajasthan’s top revenue generator in the sector.
The event attracted prominent dignitaries, including Shri Pramod Derewala, Chairman of the National Gem and Jewellery Council of India, Shri Nirmal Baradiya, Regional Chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), and leaders from the Jewellers Association and Jaipur Jewellery Show, among others.
The celebration combined Diwali’s festive spirit with a tribute to the achievements of key industry figures, creating a memorable evening that highlighted the association’s role in supporting both tradition and growth in the gems and jewellery industry.
