Dubai's gold imports dipped by 15% in 2009

The reduction is attributed to steep prices and economic slowdown

Gold has slacked in its demand and supply in South Africa, for the latter half of 2007, reported Statistics South Africa. During October 2007 production dropped by 5.8% in volume as compared to the corresponding period of last year. Fort he three months ending October 2007, production fell by 5.5%. Also, gold sales dipped by 27.1% to generate R3.099 billion ($458.58 million) in September 2007 on a Y-O-Y basis. During July to September 2007 sales plunged by 12.3%.
