The modern Show culture that has been gathering momentum in the world of gems and jewellery, gainfully adding showmanship to expert marketing, has taken firm roots in a traditional precious centre like Jaipur - India's famed colored gems centre. This was amply demonstrated by the third edition of the {{Jaipur Jewellery Show}} ({{JJS}}) held brilliantly in the Pink City from December 23 to 26, 2005. In the JJS-2005, tastefully and glamorously organized at a more spacious venue Hotel {{Rajmahal Palace}}, inland and overseas exhibiting stalls tally shot up to 276. The Show was inaugurated by a diamond sector VIP {{Shmuel Schnitzer}}, President of the {{World Federation of Diamond Bourses}} ({{WFDB}}).
Schnitzer Lauds Rapid Progress:
Schnitzer noted that the Indian diamond, gems and jewellery trade is progressing rapidly after the industry and market both have opened up to the world market. "Diamonds, gemstones and jewellery products 'made in India' are available worldwide and the reputation of its products has increased tremendously", he noted.
