Rio Tinto to produce the medals for the 2012 London Olympic Games

The leading miner will exclusively provide the metal to produce the 4,700 gold, silver and bronze medals at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Gitanjali U.S.A., has appointed Randy McCullough as chairman after the present chairman David Barr, and Deepak Gandhi as president and chief executive. The company is a group company of division Gitanjali Gems which bought over fine jewellery retailers Samuels Jewelers and Rogers Ltd. Samuels Jewelers is present through 101 stores in 20 states of US and Rogers is spread across 11 states through its 48 stores. %% Both McCullough and Gandhi have been on high positions at Samuels Jewelers. $$ McCullough worked at Samuels in the post of vice president of merchandising, chief operating officer, graduating to president and CEO. %% Deepak Gandhi joined Samuels at the time of its acquisition by Gitanjali in December 2006. he will undertake operating functions, including store operations, marketing, merchandising, and head the human resources department, in his new position. Gandhi was the president and founder of Global Systems Inc. (GSI), a company providing information technology solutions and also led a joint venture formation and two business turnarounds at GE. %% Although David Barr will be retiring from the post of Chairman, he will countinue to remain as a special advisor to the board. Taking over, McCullough has been entrusted the mandate of strategic overview, lead development of in-house brands, and chairing the board governance.
