International Gemological Institute hosts Graduation Ceremony

Certificates issued from the IGI headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium were distributed to over 40 students who have successfully trained at the Institute.

With the volume of diamonds submitted to its lab doubling in 2007, and to cater to increase in demand, HRD Antwerp NV, the subsidiary of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), has increased its capacity in work force.%% HRD Antwerp has also expanded its staff and has already set a full grading training programme was set up in an earlier phase. To accommodate the increasing workforces, the Antwerp based diamond lab facilities were expanded to a new reception and administration area. The reception area includes a total of ten reception desks. %% “With this investment, HRD Antwerp proves its faith in the future and in Antwerp’s leading role in the field of diamond certification”, states Georges Brys, General Manager of HRD Antwerp. “The centralisation of all grading activities worldwide in our central office in Antwerp, has lead to a huge volume and taxed the grading capacity of the lab in 2007. By the end of 2008, the physical working space of the diamond lab should be doubled.”%% This is a first step taken by HRD Antwerp in a global construction work programme aiming at expanding its production capacity.
