Gemewizard has invented ‘GemeFancy system’, which enables colour identification of fancy colored diamonds, available for a three month free trial to industry members, beginning Monday, May 5. The company is a leader in developing colour communication software and hardware for the gemstone and diamond industries. GemeFancy functions as a colour assessing and communication application that allows the user to accurately identify, describe and communicate all the colours visible in fancy colored diamonds, and recognise their relative location within the GIA Fancy Diamond colour range, visible on the computer screen. GemeWizard expects to interact with the industry at the JCK Show, where it will be displaying at the GIA booth. %% In comparison, the earlier colour identification methods would permit only a limited range of colour alternatives, and the user would be required to extrapolate in order to arrive at an exact colour description. GemeFancy identifies 27 main hues, each modified into 36-42 fancy grades and other color descriptions. The images generated by the GemeFancy are described using standard GIA terminology and GemeWizard's alphanumeric Color Code. The system creates email messages that allow accurate color information to be transferred to a third party. %% "Our goal is to provide anybody handling fancy colored diamonds a common language by which he or she can communicate colour information to colleagues, clients and suppliers," said Menahem Sevdermish, GemeWizard's founder and developer. GemeWizard has also developed a suite of products called ‘GemeSquare’, which is based on its innovative colour communication system. The system helps describe a gem's colour with a high degree of accuracy and communicate the information to other users, as well as gemstone professionals who are not GemeWizard users. The system has been endorsed by the GIA, and incorporated into the GIA curriculum since 2006.
