Milan, Italy, 21 July, 2008- World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) President Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri announced today that the 2009 CIBJO Congress will be held from March 1 to 4, 2009, in Macau, the former Portuguese colony, which like neighbouring Hong Kong, is now a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China. Cavalieri made the announcement following a decision made during a meeting of CIBJO’s President’s Council held earlier this month in Antwerp.%%The chief hosts of the 2009 CIBJO Congress will be MJS Trade Fairs (Macau) Ltd., the organizers of the Macau International Jewellery & Watch Fair The second edition of this fair will begin just prior to the CIBJO Congress, from February 28 to March 3, at the Venetian Macao hotel which will also double as the Congress venue. In addition, the organizers are also launching the first “Macao de Luxe” event in the Asia Pacific Region, an exclusive jewellery and watch fair that aims to become the Asian equivalent of the Couture show in the US. %%Cavalieri, who was a keynote speaker at this year’s first edition of the Macau International Jewellery and Watch Fair, said he was very pleased with the offer made by MJS%%“The show organizers have the support of all major Macau governmental and semi-governmental organizations that cover investment and export promotion as well as international trade relations and business development.
