HRD Antwerp announced launching new services in the beginning of the new year. It has planned launching its new certificate with refined cut grading system, on January 5th 2009. The certificate deliverables have been designed to offer more precision in grading descriptions and flexibility of upgradation of the old certificate. %% The description of the Cut Grade will appear in three grades: proportions, symmetry and polish, with each grade being divided into four categories: Excellent, Very Good, Good and Fair. Also, from the day of its launch, those owning the certificate can submit the old report and obtain a new version including the refined cut grade, for a price of € 20 (in stead of € 32). If the diamond has been laser inscribed, the new certificate with refined cut grading system can bear the old number. %% Certain parameters have been defined for the application of the new certificate and diamonds to be graded. For diamonds submitted to the diamond lab in December 2008 and having a due date after December 20th 2008, a certificate containing the refined cut grade will be issued. The HRD mentioned that the prices of the certificates or examinations are not changing. Certified diamonds can also be inscribed with the individual certificate number, and the fee for this service will be reduced from November 1st 2008, from € 16 to € 10 for diamonds up to 1.00 ct and from € 28 to € 15 for diamonds over 1.00 ct. Two additional working days will be added to the delivery time. %% The laser inscription will mark an ‘ID’ for every individual diamond, which will correspond to the certificate.
