The first quarter of 2009 has seen some slight increase in revenues for LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH). The increase was of 0.4 percent, amounting to about $5.2 billion in reported revenues. Although the overall reported revenue was high, the group-wise reported revenues did not have the same luck. The watches and jewellery sector saw a dip of 27 percent to around $200 million, compared with 211 million euros (about $275 million) for the first quarter of 2008. The perfumes and cosmetics sector was low by 8 percent, from the same period of 2008. But the company’s fashion and leather goods business saw an increase of 11 percent. The company is making efforts to be sensitive to the market slowdown and accordingly be cautious of its spends.
