GJEPC & GII inaugurated the DDRC

The Diamond Detection and Resource Center (DDRC) will help detect lab grown diamonds from natural ones

The seventh edition of the Jaipur Jewellery Show opened today at Rajmahal Palace, Jaipur. The show was commenced by Ms Varda Shine- Managing Director, Diamond Trading Company. Amongst other dignitaries who presided the event were Vasant Mehta, Chairman- GJEPC, Vimal Chand Surana, Convener-JJS, Rajiv Jain, Co Convener- JJS and Ajay Kala, Media Coordinator- JJS. %% The show accommodates 375 booths this year with an expected footfall of 25000 visitors from India and abroad. Delegations from countries like Sri Lanka are visiting the show. The show that will span four days, will offer immense networking and business opportunities. In order to accentuate these opportunities, the show organisers have introduced networking dinner on Sunday and other events, across the four days. %% While addressing the gathering, Varda Shine acknowledged the efforts of the JJS committee for their contribution to the trade. She further spoke about the opportunities that lie ahead for the Diamond Trade in 2010, “We are hopefully exiting a period of extreme economic turbulence and I would suggest we will be well served by looking for sustainable growth opportunities as we head into 2010.” She also thought of Jaipur to be fit for diamond cutting and polishing.
