Investigations into the murder of Campbell Bridges, the attack on his son, Bruce and four colleagues, have led to the arrest of the alleged mastermind, in Nairobi on February 8, 2010, reports say. %% A member of the Bridges' private security force apprehended Daniel M. Mnene, commonly known as Suleiman, and handed him to the police, as revealed by sources close to the Bridges family, reports say. Records indicate that Mnene was booked under Occurrence Book number 99 at the Central Police Station in Nairobi and is also believed to be behind the illegal mining and attempted takeover of the Bridges' mining concessions. %% The security officer who notified the police was a witness to the murder of Campbell Bridges on August 11, 2009 in Taita Taveta District in Tsavo National Park, reports say. The officer had accompanied the police to document the arrest of the alleged suspect. Details on the charges filed against Mnene are not yet available, reports say. %% The International Colored Gemstone Association held a tribute to Bridges, an ICA founding member and board member, in Tucson, AZ, on February 3, 2010. The event was attended by family members and close friends along with 300 members of the international gemstone community.
