A heist of gold and silver worth around Rs 1.25 crore was reported at Pride Hotel on Residency Road, Bangalore, on 22 March 2010, as reported in a leading media. The jewellery was the property of Jaipur-based Derewala Jewellery Company, which was a participant at the recently held South India Jewellery Show-2010 at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in the city, reports say. %% The robbery, as reported, was orchestrated by a four member gang, which stole 8 kg of gold and 1 kg of silver jewellery, from room 217 of the hotel, occupied by three employees of the company who were representing the company at the show. Post conclusion of the event on Monday, the three managers visited the room and later left for the cafeteria, reports say, during which the heist took place, reports add. %% Investigations state that the robbers used a small crowbar to break open the door. Although the company had booked three rooms in the hotel, for its employees attending the event, it is unclear as to how the robbers were aware of the room number of the suitcase containing the loot. Suspicion leads the police to think that the robbers may have followed the employees to their rooms. The CCTV cameras in the hotel have captured some footage of the robbers, and the police suspect a hand of insiders in this case.
