GSI Moves Indian HQ to BKC

For Signet, its fourth fiscal quarter yielded a 7 percent increase in sales amounting to $1.2 billion, while its same store sales rose 5.2 percent. The retailer incurred a 3 percent rise in cost of sales amounting to $769.5 million in the said three months. The three months recorded a net income of $117.2 million, over $424 million worth of loss in the corresponding quarter of 2009, owning to impairment charge of $517 million the retailer incurred in the three months of 2009. %% In the U.S., the fourth-quarter sales increased by 6.8 percent to $921 million and U.K. revenues rose by 8 percent to $283 million, reports say. %% Annual sales, calculated for the 12 months ending January 31, 2010, amounted to $3.29 billion falling by 1.6 percent, same-store sales decreased 0.4 percent. The fiscal 2010 net profit amounted to $164 million, as compared to a loss of $394 million in fiscal 2009. Sales in the U.S. increased 0.9 percent to $2.56 billion. Sales in U.K. dipped 0.1 percent at constant exchange rates, and by 9.3 percent to $733 million in dollar terms. %% According to reports the retailer is confident that its strategy would be apt for the current dynamic economic situation, which could enable it to earn an additional profitable market share.
