The value of India’s total gem and jewellery exports in June 2010 leaped 74.23 percent in dollar terms to US$ 3,083.46 million, as compared to US$ 1,769.75 million in June 2009. Within this basket of exports, the country's cut and polished diamond exports rose 78.73 percent to US$ 2,202.26 million (US$ 1,232.17 million in June 2009), coloured gemstones valued US$ 23.94 million rising 21.89 percent in June 2010 from US$ 19.64 million in June 2009. Gold jewellery exports increased 39.6 percent to US$ 610.40 million in June this year (US$ 437.24 million in June 2009).
