The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is hosting its Jewelry Career Fair and Open House this year, offering of over 100 jobs in the jewellery industry and an attendance of renowned companies - Ben Bridge, Blue Nile, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co. and Zale Corporation amongst others, who will be recruiting onsite. The fair is slated at the GIA Carlsbad world headquarters on October 22. %% The platform with its comprehensive agenda of panel discussions, career coaching, on-site recruiting and classroom demonstrations, is recognised as a prime opportunity with attendees – from recent graduates and seasoned professionals wanting to explore job opportunities in various areas including jewellery buyer, gemologist, bench jeweller, retail manager, designer, customer service representative, appraiser, marketing associate, administrative assistant, sales director and more. %% Kathryn Kimmel, vice president, chief Marketing officer and cofounder of GIA Career Fair, said “Professionals agree that networking is the key to a successful career and this event offers students and job seekers an unparalleled ‘instant’ network to begin that first step.” %% This year, the fair will include special gem and jewelry exhibits on display including Carrera y Carrera jewelry recently worn by pop singer Katy Perry and reality star Kristin Cavallari from MTV’s “The Hills”; the “Golden Treasures by Akelo” collection, and more than 1,000 gems and minerals on exhibit at the GIA Museum.
