The month of October ended with increase in Israel’s diamond trade, as compared to the same moth last year. Polished diamond exports increased 24 percent to $593.9 million and rough diamond exports rose 55 percent to $311.8 million. There was a 33 percent increase in total exports which touched $905.7 million. %% Imports of rough and polished diamonds increased 96 percent to $987.1 million ( there is not official data reported on separate import figures). %% The country’s net diamond account (total exports less total imports) fell to negative $81.4 million, from $176.9 million in October 2009.
