More than 3,100 exhibitors from 48 countries and regions, a new exhibitor record, are taking part in the 29th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, which opened yesterday and continues through 20 February at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). %% The first day of the show saw visitors in record numbers throng the aisles. The diamond pavilion in particular saw a lot of movement. Lawrence Ma, Chairman HKTDC said that due to the slowdown, exhibitors came with low expectations so compared to that the first two days have progressed well.%% Most people feel that the timing of the show works in its favour, since it comes in the beginning of the year and just after the Chinese New Year.%% Although business in the jewellery sector seemed a bit slow, yet exhibitors are all optimistic for the coming days and expect the show to conclude well.%% The fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), welcomes exhibitors from Argentina, Denmark and Myanmar for the first time, and features more than a dozen product zones. %% Adding to the mix are more than 6,500 buyers from 87 buying missions, representing companies from 75 countries and regions.%%
