The International Gemological Institute's (IGI) School of Gemology hosted a graduation ceremony for successful graduates of its ‘Polished Diamond Grading Program’ on September 8th 2012. The event was held at its new premises in Prashanth Towers, Chennai. 15 deserving students were presented with their diploma certificates, issued by IGI headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium. The guest of honor was Prashanth Thiagrajan, a popular Tollywood film personality. IGI has been operational in Prashanth Towers as a laboratory since May 2010 and has recently introduced its educational facility to complement the lab. The IGI School of Gemology shares the same premises with IGI Laboratory. It will be offering the complete spectrum of educational courses ranging from Polished Diamond Grading, Polished Diamond Graduate, Jewellery Design Program, Colored Stone Program and Graduate Gemologist, among others. %% Speaking on the occasion Ramit Kapur, the general manager of IGI, said, "During the last 13 years, IGI education has been an active contributor to the industry, providing talented gemologists, graders, designers and professional experts. We will develop more programs to serve the industry in modern, rapidly evolving times, in order to stay ahead of the latest developments in the global diamond and jewelry industry. Our success is proven and reflected by the thousands of smiling students who will bring positive change to the industry."
