Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, today, spoke in support of the nationwide jewellers’ strike against the central government's proposition to impose one percent excise duty. He also urged PM Narendra Modi to roll back excise. During the Legislative Assembly session in Delhi, today, Kejriwal spoke about how his government has reduced taxes and are encouraging various industries in the state while on the other hand the central government is discouraging the industries in the country. He urged the government to encourage the jewellery industry, which is one of the best examples of ‘Make in India’. He termed the central government’s attitude toward jewellers in the country as ‘arrogant’. It has been 29 days since the jewellers have gone on strike to protest against the excise duty.
