Swarovski India Pvt Ltd celebrated the 20th anniversary of the ‘Swarovski Crystal Society’ with the launch of an exquisite piece-“The Collector” in Mumbai on 23rd March 2007. %% To mark the event two of Swarovski’s leading designers Martin Zendron and Heinz Tabershofer signed the exclusive Swarovski crystal pieces, designed by them. %% Briefing on the crystal society, Mr Shiv Kumar, Swarovski, India Head, said, “In 1987 we founded the Swarovski Crystal Society (SCS) to address a news community of individuals that cherished the beauty of crystal. Today we are the world’s largest collector society with an international following. SCS came to India in the year 2002 and today re-unites thousands of crystal lovers. Ever since the foundation of SCS, we have created a special annual edition available exclusively to our members. The Lovebird were launched in 1987 as the first piece of the caring and sharing trilogy.”
Well apart from showpieces, what is the scene of Swarovski as fashion jewellery? “In last few years, the demand for Swarovski has fashion jewellery has really grown tremendously, for the simple fact that it looks elegant and classy at the same time. The Swaroski range of jewellery with us starts from Rs 2000.” %% Martin Zendron, Director of Swarovski design centre in Wattens, has been designing exquisite crystals figurines since 1988. In the ‘harmony’ annual edition 2005-The first piece of ‘Wonders of sea’ trilogy, Martin beautifully depicted two clown fish living in symbiosis with a sea anemone-a wonderful symbol of unity and harmony. %% On the other hand, Heinz Tabertshofer, is well known to lovers of Swarovski crystal since 1997 and has designed the last piece of the ‘Wonders of the sea’ trilogy-‘Community’ Annual edition 2007-which depicts an elegant banner fish who seems to move gracefully together as if a gentle breeze is taking them on a journey. %% The year 2007, saw the conclusion of the ‘Wonders of Sea’ trilogy which started in 2005 with Harmony, followed in 2006 by Eternity, the Turtle and culminated with Community.
