The Chairman also called upon Training Institutes to join hands with GJSCI towards imparting skilling as an Assessment Agency or Training Partner as all the curriculum and qualification packs are aligned to NSQF levels based on international standards.
The preparation for the competition started with a registration process, where about more than 150 candidates across India registered themselves for the WorldSkills Competition. The competition is scheduled to happen in Kazan, Russia, 2019.
GJSCI organized a Training Partners Meet to discuss priorities of the coming year along with the updates on various schemes and benefits.
GJSCI conducted its 4thedition of ‘Jewel Talks’, a monthly interactive platform between both industry experts and aspirants pursuing a career in the gems & jewellery industry.
According to the MOU, IIGJ – Jaipur will act as an RPL training facilitator, JAJ as Mobilization Agency and GJSCI will act as Project Implementation Agency (PIA).

The aim behind this initiative is to uplift the karigars of gems & jewellery industry in India.
The Jewels Talk was another initiative by GJSCI where students got to learn about the Gems and Jewellery sector from the professionals, which will help the future guns to cop up the hurdles and master in this sector.
GJSCI’s Cleanliness drive was held on 30th September where GJSCI employees cleaned and swept the streets around Andheri East. The campaign was led by Binit Bhatt, C.E.O, GJSCI.
Kerala being one of country’s jewellery hubs, KTB (IGJ,Inkel)- new Centre of Excellence plays a crucial role in providing skills to make them highly efficient as well as uplift the standard of living of the karigars in and around this region.
India Skills competition is a Skill initiative founded by National Skill Development Council where competition is held for all the skills identified under this initiative including Gems & Jewellery Sector.
RPL program will help candidates to identify their inherited skills and get certified for the same which will equip them to get better and more stable jobs and avail of entrepreneurship opportunities.
