Kozhikode-based jewellery manufacturing firm SWA Diamonds won the Guinness World Record for ‘the most number of diamonds set in one ring’. The ring was designed by National Institute of Design (NID) graduate Rijisha T.V. and manufactured in the Malappuram district of Kerala. Named 'The Touch of Ami', the ring has been inspired by the pink oyster mushroom and sparkles with 24,679 diamonds, thus eclipsing the previous record-holding ring set with 12,638 diamonds. The ring is 27-year old Rijisha T.V.s maiden diamond design work for a jeweller. The ring weighs 344 grams and is priced around Rs 80 lakh.
