Mexican Trade & Tequila Discussed at GJEPC’s India Global Connect

Mexico producing 100 metric tonnes of gold each year, gives it highest potential for gold trade with India

At the India Global Connect Seminar held online last evening, the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council explored business possibilities with Mexico. The Business Networking Meet was held to strategize and synergize with International trade members towards building a multilateral trade network. Participants included India Ambassador Pankaj Sharma, Mr. R. Arulanandan, Director, Department of Commerce; Sabhasachi Ray, Executive Director GJEPC; Dolly Choudhary, Director Promotions & Marketing; Anish Birawat, Chain & Chain Pvt Lts; Andrea meléndez, Advisor, ANIERM; Alvaro Azpeitia Covarrubias, President, Chamber of Jewelleryof Jalisco; Deepak Seth, Partner, SK Seth Jewellers; Manish Patwa, Partner, Green Diamonds Technologies LLP; Isabella Landeros, Representative COME; K Srinivasan, Joint MD, Emerald Jewel Industry Pvt Ltd. and a few other important dignitaries.

Chaudhary made a presentation depicting the trade statistics of both countries on behalf of the GJEPC, which was followed by an exceptional question and answer session. Trade focused queries were addressed by each member ranging from the jewellery of choice of Mexican consumers, the lab grown market to tariff rates in import and export. The meet ended with an invitation from the GJEPC to the Mexican government inviting the latter to attend the trade body’s crucial trade show.
