Pancharatna Building, a diamond trading hub at Opera House housing more then six hundred offices faced a bomb scare on March 3, 2006. The whole building had to be evacuated in matter of minutes. Police and the bomb squad rushed to the place. On investigation it was confirmed that it was only a rumor spread by a single phone call made by an unidentified caller.
The police searched the whole building for the signs of a bomb but found none. The call was made from a PCO in a nearby railway station. According to the caller the bomb would explode around 6:30 PM which was exactly after half an hour of the phone call being made.%%The whole area was enveloped by a mass of people. The confusion and commotion caused by the bomb scare added to the ongoing chaos in the place. The police have not been able to trace the caller so far.
