GIA to showcase at AGTA GemFair in Tucson, AGTA Pavilion in Las Vegas JCK

Gitanjali, one of India’s oldest business retailer acquired Asmi and Nakshatra brands from Dimaond Trading Company (DTC) on November 24, 2005 at New Delhi. This move has made Gitanjali Group the leading retailer in India with maximum brands under its belt. DTC had put up four brands for sale on the Indian market- Nakshatra, Asmi, Sangini and Arisia, following its decision to sell of brands to its clients with highest investment.
These premium jewellery brands will be available at leading clothes stores across the country. This is a part of the industry strategy to link high fashion to diamonds since jewellery retail is showing 50% growth every year. For the first time India will be able to sell branded jewellery to China and Thailand.%%“DTC has indicated that they are no longer going to promote individual brands and instead concentrate on generic promotions in India the 80 Crore Nakshatra brand acquisition is complete, while Asmi deal, its valuation still under wraps, will be announced shortly,” said Mehul Choksi, Chairman Giatnjali Group. The Nakshatra Brand is sold in 175 outlets and Asmi is sold in 225 outlets across India. Tanishq is its only competitor with 58 outlets since it has no collaboration with retailers and is a one shop brand.
