Verma Jewellers distributes 'Tulsi' plants on World Environment Day

Around 1000 Tulsi plants were distributed in the city.

Solan-based Verma Jewellers, a reputed name in the jewellery industry, recently celebrated World Environment Day in a unique way. The company distributed Tulsi plants (Holy Basil) in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The main idea was to spread awareness to save environment. While distributing the plants, the medicinal properties of Tulsi plant were explained. Around 1000 Tulsi plants were distributed in the city.

Every year, World Enviornment Day is celebrated on 5th June and it was started in the year 1974. This day is celebrated with much reverence across the world in schools, colleges and universities so that the new generation understands the importance of safe environment.

Akshay Verma, Director, Verma Jewellers said “It is our prime responsibility to take care of the environment. With industrialization, growing technology, expanding cities, we were also met with the dangers that were caused to the environment. As a responsible citizen of this city, we thought it’s our duty to do our bit towards the betterment of the environment.”
