St George's Hospital, Mumbai gets new VIP Wing
Ever since its inception, Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation (GJNRF) has taken several initiatives to help and better the lives of victims, who suffer as a result of natural calamities, besides giving aid and relief to other worthy causes.
GJNRF has distributed ration kits, foods to migrants and needy people, donated masks, goggles, gloves, PPE kits, Diapers, Sanitizer and PCR kits to various hospitals and police stations, and donated medical equipment to Government BMC run hospitals, during COVID 19 pandemic. Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation undertook the project of converting 5 Rooms, into super care centre with Oxygen, Ventilator and other modern facilities for the treatment of Government Officials and VIPS at St. George Hospital run by Government of Maharashtra.
The project was supervised and monitored by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission. Due to their guidance and support, the project was completed within 45 days only. The newly created wing of 5 special rooms with modern amenities was inaugurated on 31st August 2020 by Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee (IAS, Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra), Mrs. Vinita Singal (IAS, Secretary, Govt. of Maharashtra), in the Presence of Trustees of Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation, Shri Praveen Shankar Pandya and Shri Ashok Gajera and Trustee of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission, Dr. BijaI Mehta.
The function was graced by Dr. T.P. Lahane, Director DMEA, Dr. Ranjit Mankeshwar, Dean of Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals and Dr. Sanjay Surase, Superintendent. J.J. Hospital. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Akash Khobragade, Superintendent, St. George's Hospital.
The new facility will be used for corona patients initially and then for regular patients.The project cost is around Rs.70 Lakhs.
