The GIA Cultured Pearl Classification Report is an abbreviated report that provides classification information on unmodified cultured pearls
This dossier-sized report includes a detailed classification of the submitted pearl(s) based on the GIA 7 Pearl Value FactorsTM as well as a digital image of the submitted item(s). It is specifically and exclusively for the three major types of cultured pearls (Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls), with no identification or advanced testing of the pearl(s) being performed. If a pearl is found by GIA gemologists as being modified by treatment (except routine processes) or as not belonging to one of the accepted pearl types, the pearl service will automatically change to a pearl identification report. Submitted pearls may be loose, mounted, strung, or in a fixed design layout for a strand or jewelry item.
