With the exhibitor list touching almost 2 thousand and the number of registered visitors touching almost 40 thousand; business prospects at the second largest show in the world were immense. Exhibitors had curated special collections to present prospective clients at the event. This year IIJS Premiere 2022 was planned kepping in mind international designing standards and environmentally friendly sustainable materials. The show had a brand new element of design and colour coding for stall designs, there was uniformity in the look of the show and it was planned a notch above the previous editions. IJ asks a few exhibitors for their comments.

Rishabh Gandhi, Partner at Angel Jewels LLP

“We are very happy with the show and the consumer too is very happy with our new collections. This year we have witnessed never-seen-before walk-ins, this year we have seen most number of people attending the show and making purchases. The market sentiment is really good, trend in demand will continue in the next 4 to 5 months.

All wholesalers are here under one roof and that is convenient for our business. Similar booths and uniformity is a good idea as it is giving a very nice and rich feel to the show like international events.”

Nikhil Jain, Director of Samruddhi Jewelcraft

“The show is superb. We have new customers and forged many new relationships this time. The advantage of a new space is that we get fresh new walk-ins. IIJS is the best platform and we find the dull shades aesthetically pleasing as it contrasts with the glamorous products we have. Customers not only look at the name of the brand, they check out the jewellery and then enter the space. That gives chance to those jewellers who may not have a big brand name, yet their work stands out. So, this uniformity is a commendable step towards achieving unbiased business opportunities. We have launched Vadhu, Virasat, Ahalya and Sionaah collections here specifically at IIJS. Sionaah is a collection of jewellery that is inspired from waterfalls.

Girish the Owner of Aakar Jewels

“From the very first day the walk-ins are good. The show has a lavish feel, the stall designs are giving an international look to the entire event. Uniformity is a welcome change that the industry needed. Customers walk slowly and don’t rush past the stalls like they used to do earlier. All products are examined with detail and newer customers are generated.

We have launched a watch collection with coloured stones at the IIJS. The IIJS consumer has evolved and they are not focused on prices any more. They want to have unique luxury items. For them we have designed and launched a luxury watch collection in the range of 1 to 1.5 lakhs. The response is unbelievable and most welcome.”

Ajay Singh and Anjali Baid, Founder of Angel Gems

“The response is very good and meeting positive people and looking forward for good business as we have gained a lot of new and big names and clients. The venue is approachable and convenient compared to BKC, however the numbering of stalls is a very difficult exercise for all. We loved the infrastructure but we need more branding outside to attract more clients.”

Snehal Trilokekar, Director of First Divinity Diamonds

“We have been participating since 8 to 9 years and always had a stall in Hall 1. We didn’t participate in Bangaluru. We have a stall here now in Hall 6, as we/ have no choice. Though customers took too long to reach here and find us, business from the second day onwards was amazing.

Uniformity is a well thought out plan and it is working wonderfully. We have received good footfalls. However I would like to suggest that with the world class convention centre at JIO Garden available, parking also available one can avoid the chaos that is being experienced here.”

Sagar Tambi, Creative Director of Dvynlove

“The response to the IIJS has been phenomenal. Inspite of the rising prices there is a demand, people have a hunger for variety. My brand is young and has a progressive outlook, thus we have launched collections in the trending open setting polki and diamond jewellery with consumer specific tastes, especially for IIJS.

IIJS is so special for the entire nation and the world, as I know not only us, but the whole world waits for this event to showcase their best. We have designed our stall from the insides would really appreciate and need more display space outside the booth. I feel that if stalls could be segregated into different halls there would be less mix and match.”
