US-based fine jewellery brand Angara has announced plans to open its first physical store in India by early 2026, marking a significant expansion into what it views as its most strategic market. The brand is targeting Rs 1,000 crore in revenue from India by 2030, supported by an ambitious rollout of 100 stores across the country.

Founded in 2005 by Ankur and Aditi Daga, Angara is globally recognised for its customisable coloured gemstone and diamond jewellery. The brand, which soft-launched in India ten months ago, has already surpassed Rs 10 crore in revenue and is currently growing at 50% month-on-month.

“India and the U.S. are both $85 billion jewellery markets. Starting next year, India will be the largest in the world,” said Ankur Daga, CEO and Co-founder. He noted that Indian stores will serve as experience centres, with all pieces made-to-order and delivered within 72 hours—leveraging the brand’s vertically integrated manufacturing model.

With a strong focus on tech-enabled customisation and lab-grown gemstones, Angara aims to reshape fine jewellery retail in India, catering to both traditional sensibilities and modern preferences. A men’s collection inspired by global red carpet trends is also set to launch in September.

The company is simultaneously expanding into Japan, the GCC, and Singapore, but Daga emphasised that India remains its most aggressive and significant growth market to date.
