Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC), profiled as a leading bullion importer, has organised a ‘Festival of Gold 2007’- a commercial gold and jewellery exhibition-cum-sale event. The show began on October 27 in New Delhi, and would span through nine days, as reported by The Hindu Business Line.%%Around 70,000 jewellery pieces are on display including certified diamonds, gold and silver medallions and sterling silverware. Also, emerald studded jewellery from Colombia, Zambia, Brazil and rubies from Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Africa will be displayed, according to a statement on moneycontrol.com. The event is expected to draw a business worth Rs.40 crore ($10 million).
