Steven Spielberg, noted film maker has been honoured by Scatola del Tempo, a prestigious Italian company, creator of rotating watch holders, during the ARTribe in Los Angeles, for his enduring commitment towards community service. ARTribe is an organization set up by Los Angeles high school students, to help raise funds for worthy causes through events featuring the work of talented high school artists. %% In 2007, the organisation raised funds for the SPIRAL Foundation, a non-profit humanitarian organisation committed to improving living conditions and healthcare in the most impoverished areas of central Vietnam and eastern Nepal. This year is the second annual show of ARTribem, to be once again held at Santa Monica Art Studios, to raise funds for the SPIRAL Foundation, attended by large public groups and celebrities. Steven Spielberg stood out – once again – for his great availability and generosity. %% Scatola del Tempo, the watch company was incorporated in end 1980’s by collector Sandro Colarieti, who sought watch holders worthy of the quality of his collection and envisioned manufacturing his watch brand. Scatola del Tempo today is appreciated and known worldwide with its very own, special idea of what constitutes a watch case. In 1990 rotating watch holders appreciated the invention of automatic watches which keep time and date. Sandro Colarieti then created the 1RT model, the prototype for a long series which enjoyed an immediate success. The watch winders are equipped with a high precision micro-motor and controlled by a micro-processor. They can rotate both clockwise and anti-clockwise, keeping any automatic movement within the device in full charge for over a year. The engines are Swiss produced but the final assembly takes place in Italy. %% Through 2008, Scatola has rewarded George Lucas, Forest Whitaker and recently Steven Spielberg.
