On May 3 and 4, each registered diamond dealer will be able to participate in direct elections to select six of the body’s 12 directors. Voting will take in the Oppenheimer Room, which is located in the basement floor of the HRD Building, Hoveniersstraat 22, Antwerp.%%Eligible voters include directors and administrators of diamond companies registered in the Antwerp diamond sector. Only one administrator per company may vote%%To ensure proper representation of both larger and smaller diamond companies on the new board, eligible voters will be subdivided into three categories according to the average turnover of the last two years. Category 1 includes large dealers who have realized an average yearly turnover of more than € 100 million. Category 2 includes medium-sized diamond dealers who have realized an average yearly turnover between € 30 million and € 100 million in 2004 and 2005. Category 3 includes individuals with an average yearly turnover of less than € 30 million. Each voter is entitled to vote for two candidates in the category to which they belong.%%The new board will number 12 directors, with six members chosen through direct elections, and three members appointed by the bourses, two member each appointed by the manufacturer organizations and the unions, and one appointed by the board itself.%%It is expected that the new HRD board of directors will be installed by the middle of May 2006.
