Aspri launches new signature piece

A varied blend of stones and colours

SEVERAL days ago, a counterfeit diamond was discovered when it was brought for examination to a gemological laboratory in Israel. The stone, which was brought to the lab by a private client who is not a bourse member, was found to actually be a topaz, whose specific gravity is similar to that of a diamond. The stone was polished to look like a rough diamond, in the shape of a dodecahedron, which is a typical rough diamond shape but does not exist in the topaz.
%%The gemological laboratory told the Israeli Diamond Industry Portal that the fake was of a very high quality. The stone weighed 10.8 carats, was of a high clarity, with a slightly blue color.
%%The customer has in his possession additional large stones that were not submitted for examination. These stones also have a very slightly bluish color, in cube or octahedron shapes.
