23 jewellers were awarded for their entries and Vaani Kapoor was the chief guest for the evening
Indian Jeweller (IJ) hosted a one of a kind glittering award ceremony the “JJS-IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards 2019” on Friday, 20th December 2019, this time at the convention centre in JECC.
Manufacturers, retailers and designers from across the country had submitted their designs under various categories and price points for review and selection. The competition required manufacturers, designers and retailers to submit their best designs across 21categories. The winning pieces from over 600 + entries were reviewed and chosen by an eminent Jury Panel.
The host of the show Sumona Chakravarthy of the Kapil Sharma show fame kept the audience in wrapt attention with her quick delivery and wit. Noted film star Vaani Kapoor was the Chief Guest for the evening who presented the awards to the winners. Prominent people present at the award ceremony were Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA India & Middle East, Rajiv Jain, Secretary, JJS, Sankar Sen, Vice Chairman, GJC, Ramesh Narang from Hazoorilal Legacy and Vijay Khanna from Khanna Jewellers amongst others.
Alok Kala, Publisher and Editor, Indian Jeweller said, “Design is of paramount importance in jewellery and our objective with this event is to encourage the design fraternity. As each year passes by, we only want to outdo ourselves.”
Comedian Kiku Sharda kept the audience in splits at the show with his addictive humor. Some of the prominent winners at the show were Khurana Jewellery House, which bagged two awards Pantone Color of the Year 2019 and Statement Jewellery. BirdhichandGhanshyamdas, Jaipur for Statement Jewellery. Tara Fine Jewels won the award for Heritage Jewellery above Rs 5 Lakhs while Achal Jewels won the award for Heritage Jewels under Rs 5 Lakhs. Manish Malhotra Jewellery by Raniwala 1881won the award for Red Carpet Jewellery & KK Jewels won the award for Best Accessory. Manoharlal Jewellers won the award for Transformative Jewellery. Winners for Best Cut Gemstone under 10ct was Jaipur Johri and between 10 - 20 ct was Canarys, Jaipur.
The awards night brought forth a wonderful opportunity for manufacturers, retailers and designers of India, to showcase their talent, creativity and products through our unique platform.
