Despite the pandemic, the gems and jewellery business continues to flourish and add value to the lives of millions of people across the globe with fine aesthetics and unprecedented skill. 
With a view to honour the art involved in jewellery making -- organized by Indian Jeweller (IJ) Magazine – title partner- Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS), powered by GIA (Gemological Institute of America). According to Rajiv Jain, Hon Secretary, JJS, “This is the time to pause and reflect on what was and what could be. Some of the most inspiring ideas come from within and this is the time to slow down and introspect for inspiration. A good design is the something which is most relevant and adaptive apart from evolving the right emotions, and I strongly feel this is truly the time to create it. Jewellery award is our small initiative to motivate and reinforce creativity in these times. To never stop and keep creating and evolving.” This endeavour will surely help the industry to rediscover its sheen which had dimmed during the days of the lockdown. 

IJ Jeweller’s Choice Design Awards presents brand new categories this time, which include: Minimalistic Jewellery, Pantone Jewellery (Colour of the year 2020, which is Classic Blue); along with existing Product categories and Best of the Best categories. Says, Sriram Natarajan, Managing Director of GIA India, “The JJS-IJ Jeweller’s Choice Design Awards provides jewellery manufacturers, designers and retailers an ideal platform to showcase their creativity and innovation. While the show recognises and rewards the exceptional work of a few, it’s also an opportunity to demonstrate our collective strength as an industry – particularly in these trying times. GIA India has been associated with IJ Awards since its inception and we’re inspired by the spirit of the participants. I wish all of them great success." 

In its Xth year since inception, the IJ Jeweller’s Choice Design Awards promises to scale newer heights bringing forth finest designs from across the length and breadth of India. Speaking about this year’s event, Alok Kala, Publisher, Indian Jeweller, says, “We are happy to host the 10th edition of the awards this year. The aim behind the awards has always been to inspire people to create new designs, motivate companies to bring creativity and provide a  platform to recognise it. With this pandemic, we feel there is more a reason to have such an event. JJS and GIA have been associated with us since the inception, we are happy to get their support even this year and together we hope to host an event that will benefit the industry.”

The registration for the awards will open from October 20, 2020. Participants can submit one or more entries for the contest through a simple 5- step procedure outlined on the Online Entry Application Form on the official website: www.indianjeweller.in/designawards
 
The jewellery submissions will be shortlisted through a detailed online voting process and a carefully planned personal inspection of each and every piece of shortlisted jewellery by a panel of eminent judges from the jewellery industry.
