The officials visited the PCCCC and got acquainted with various departments of the bourse including the customs clearance operations
On August 16, 2022, Tarun Bajaj, Revenue Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, visited Bharat Diamond Bourse campus along with Balesh Kumar, Member of Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC), Roopam Kapoor, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Customs - Zone III and Rajesh Sanan, Principal Commissioner of Customs, Zone III, and other dignitaries of the Customs namely Swati Shivam, Additional Commissioner of Customs, R K Dwivedi, Additional Commissioner of Customs, D S Rana, Additional Commissioner of Customs, Sanjeev Chetule, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, PCCCC, Mahendra Rathod, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, PCCCC, Durgesh Salunke, Deputy Commissioner and Jitendra Singh, Deputy Commissioner.
The above officials visited the Precious Cargo Customs Clearance Center (PCCCC) in BDB and acquainted themselves with the customs clearance operations. Further, they visited 'India Diamond Trading Center' or IDTC in BDB. They also visited the state of the art ‘Security Command’ and ‘Control Center’ of BDB.
Mehul Shah, Vice President, BDB with Milan Parikh, Committee Member welcomed them and gave an overview of BDB complex, its history and functioning. Mehul Shah appreciated and thanked customs officials for their cooperation and support. A special thanks was given to Roopam Kapoor, Chief Commissioner of Customs, who always stands by to resolve issues of the members. After seeing the overall Campus operations and state of the art Command center, Tarun Bajaj and Balesh Kumar were impressed with the Security System and appreciated the standard maintained by the BDB.
