GJEPC, the apex body of India's gem and jewellery industry, presented the 3rd edition of the International Gem & Jewellery Show (IGJS) in Jaipur. This event, in partnership with Gemfields, took place from April 12th to 14th at the Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre
IGJS Jaipur is a carefully curated event highlighting Indian craftsmanship, featuring 54 jewellery manufacturers and exporters showcasing Diamonds, Loose Gemstones, Gemstone & Diamond Studded Jewellery, and Silver Jewellery.
The formal inauguration included dignitaries like Dr. Nawal Kishore Agarwal, Convener, Jewellery Panel Committee, GJEPC; Nirmal Bardiya, Regional Chairman, Rajasthan Region, GJEPC; Gopal Kumar, Director, Gemfields India; Nilesh Kothari, Convener, International Exhibitions, GJEPC; Smt. Shilpi R. Purohit, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Industries Department, Govt. Of Rajasthan, Jaipur; Mahendra Agrawal, Convener, Coloured Gemstones Panel, GJEPC; K.B. Goyal, Convener – Silver Jewellery Panel, GJEPC; B N Gupta, Synthetic Stones, Sales to Foreign Tourist & Costume Fashion Jewellery Panel.
IGJS 2024 attracted 250 international buyers from 27 countries including Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA, and Uzbekistan.
Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, emphasized the industry's global prominence and its annual exports of USD 40 billion, supporting over 5 million jobs. He highlighted initiatives like IGJS Shows to bolster international trade relationships.
Nilesh Kothari, Convener, International Exhibitions, GJEPC, underscored IGJS Jaipur's significance in showcasing India's jewellery manufacturing prowess and its success in attracting global buyers.
Heather Mayantis, Senior Buyer, Reeds Jewelers, noted the rise of eCommerce and the enduring appeal of gemstones, while Judith Fisher, Merchandising Officer, Reeds Jewelers, praised the quality and craftsmanship of Indian vendors.
IGJS, held annually in Dubai and Jaipur, aims to exhibit India's finest to the world, reinforcing GJEPC's vision of positioning India as the premier source for top-tier gems and jewellery.
