GJEPC Delhi Holds Seminar on Cyber Crime Prevention

The GJEPC Delhi Regional Office, in partnership with Delhi Police, hosted a seminar on 'Cyber Crime Prevention', aimed at safeguarding the gem and jewellery industry

GJEPC’s Delhi Regional Office, in collaboration with Delhi Police, organised a seminar on "Cyber Crime Prevention" at Jhandewalan to safeguard the interests of the gem and jewellery industry. The seminar was graced by Chief Guest Dr. B. Shanker Jaiswal, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Technology, Cyber, and Licensing), Delhi Police. Ashok Seth, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, and Anil Sankhwal, CoA Member, GJEPC welcomed the officer and presented a memento.

Ashok Seth emphasised the importance of such seminars for jewellers in light of the increasing cyber threats. He urged Dr. Jaiswal to consider including representatives from the jewellery industry in the police's cyber crime prevention efforts.

Dr. Jaiswal delivered a comprehensive presentation on different types of cyber crimes and preventive measures. He advised the audience to be cautious of online frauds and recommended reading the article "Raju and the Forty Thieves" published by the Reserve Bank of India.

The seminar was attended by around 30 participants from the exporting community. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Regional Chairman. During the event, Sanjeev Bhatia, Assistant Director of Delhi RO, GJEPC, provided an overview of the Council's activities, including its flagship events and initiatives.
