Bharat Diamond Bourse Stands in Solidarity with Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack

In a solemn tribute to the victims of the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) observed a moment of collective mourning on April 25, expressing grief and solidarity with the affected families

The attack, which occurred on April 22, claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians and left many others injured, sending shockwaves across the nation. In response, the BDB community came together in a show of unity and resilience, pausing all activity across the complex to observe two minutes of silence at 3:25 PM.

BDB President Shri Anoop Mehta, Vice President Shri Mehul Shah, and GJEPC Chairman Shri Kirit Bhansali strongly condemned the heinous act, voicing unwavering support for the victims and their families. Their statements underscored the industry’s collective stand against violence and terrorism.

Yoram Dvash, President of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), also extended his heartfelt condolences, expressing global solidarity with India during this tragic time.

“This symbolic pause in our daily work is a gesture of remembrance and defiance,” said a BDB spokesperson. “We honour the innocent lives lost and reaffirm our belief in peace, unity, and humanity.”

The diamond community, often associated with celebration and milestones, stood united in grief — a reminder that even in times of tragedy, empathy and collective strength remain the industry's core values.
