The International Institute of Gemology (IIG), one of India’s leading gem and jewellery education institutions, has unveiled an engaging and interactive campaign at IIJS 2025, giving visitors a chance to win a course worth Rs. 1,00,000 — all by leveraging a simple selfie and the strength of their social media network.
The campaign invites participants to visit IIG’s booth at IIJS 2025, pose for a selfie at the institute’s Jharokha-themed installation, and share the image on their Instagram story tagging @iigofficial. The catch? To win, participants must rally their followers to repost the story. The individual with the highest number of shares will walk away with a master course at IIG, worth Rs. 1 lakh.
More than just a marketing gimmick, the Jharokha-themed selfie corner reflects IIG’s commitment to experiential learning. The installation was entirely conceived and created by IIG’s students as part of a merchandising project, featuring hand-carved, hand-painted elements inspired by Indian architectural heritage — aligning seamlessly with the 2025 IIJS theme of Architecture.
“I love giving back to the industry — it’s shaped who I am,” said Rahul Desai, MD & CEO of IIG and Founder of RD Consultancy. “But I also believe giveaways should be earned with creativity and energy. When people participate and amplify something with their own voice and community, the reward means so much more. This isn’t just about IIG — it’s about celebrating connections, visibility, and the spirit of collaboration.”
IIG’s booth at IIJS 2025 also reflects the institute’s broader educational vision — from short-term hands-on workshops to advanced programmes in gemology, design, and retail strategy, catering to students, professionals, and entrepreneurs alike.
Additionally, the booth introduces visitors to RD Consultancy, Rahul Desai’s newly launched strategic advisory firm aimed at manufacturers, jewellery retailers, startups, and scaling businesses. The presence of RD Consultancy alongside IIG symbolises a powerful blend of academic rigour and industry insight — where education meets execution.
Visitors to IIJS are encouraged to visit IIG at JWCC, Stall No: JIO–G11, explore the institute’s educational offerings, take part in the selfie challenge, and engage with the team to discover how IIG and RD Consultancy can support their career and business aspirations.
