The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) has promoted Orna Chait as its Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer (CIO), entrusting her with the portfolio of managing the Information Technology (IT) and online services of the IDI Group of Companies. This development follows the Group’s keen interest in forwarding its policy of developing its IT infrastructure and focusing efforts and resources on the Internet in order to meet challenges posed by future markets. %% IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said, “The global diamond industry has undergone a revolution in recent years and is increasingly turning to IT and trade through the Internet. We attribute great importance to this area and are confident that Orna Chait will continue to develop it in the future.” %% Adding to this, IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar stated: “Ms. Chait’s appointment is an important step for the IDI Group, which will enable us to strengthen the IT and Internet areas. Orna Chait has introduced a revolution in this area since her arrival and we are confident that she will continue to effectively boost these fields.” %% Ms. Chait has been working with the IDI Group since November 2007 as the diamond industry’s Portal Manager. She was Manager of the Portal Unit at the Israel Export Institute, and a lecturer in Computer Science in the Informatics Department of Beit Berl College, and at the Center for Continuing Education at Tel Aviv University. Ms. Chait holds a Masters Degree in Computer Technology from Bar-Ilan University.
