Revenues for eBay during the first quarter of the year amounted to around $2 billion (dipping by 8 percent), while net income slipped down by 22 percent to $357.1 million. The online retailer attributes this loss to the strengthening of the dollar and a fall in its online core Marketplaces business unit including eBay, Shopping.com, StubHub, Kijiji and other ecommerce sites. %% Revenues in the Marketplaces fell 18 percent and amounted to $1.2 billion. Around 54 percent of the business at the Marketplaces was generated from markets out of the US. The revenue drop was attributable to the impact of the strong dollar and fall of the core business sue to market slowdown.
