GJEPC hosts Diamond, Gem & Jewellery Banking Summit 2014

Key issues of finance for the gem and jewellery sector were discussed with officials from banking and Ministry of Finance

The All-India Gems and Jewellery Federation (GJF) and the Indian Institute of Jewellery (IIJ) together have created a 20-city wide educational-summit entitled ‘Vinaya’, solely for the gem and jewellery industry. The first two editions of the summit were recently conducted, first at Ahmedabad (29, April, 2010) followed by Rajkot (2, May 2010), with over 832 jewellers registering at the Ahmedabad summit and 356 at Rajkot. Vinaya has been conceived to professionalise the Indian gems and jewellery industry. %% It delivered interactive workshops and discussions on sales, jewellery designing amongst other topics. %% IIJ conducted workshops on topics including - Understanding Diamond Jewellery from its Program from Master Diamond Grader – Diamond Grading, Identification & Valuation; Over the Counter Sketching from Artistic – Basic Jewellery De; Grow with Gold from Master Creator – Jewellery Manufacturing Program; How a Retailer should understand its customer? From JOR - Jewellery in Organised Retail Management. Gemological Institute of America (GIA) conducted sessions on Building Consumer Confidence, Ensuring Public Trust the GIA Way. %% Sponsors to the event included prominent industry bodies and companies, some being- P&S Sringar (Title Partner), Techno Jewels (Title Partner), The Gemmological Institute of America (Knowledge Partner), Living Stones (Diamond Partner), Diamond World (Online Diamond Trading Partner), Kadam and Kadam (Direct Jewellery Partner), Saiesha (Fine Jewellery Partner), GemVision (CAD/CAM Education Partner), Krizz (Direct Jewellery Partner), The 1869 Guild (B2B Jeweller Service Partner). %% Following the success at Ahmedabad and Rajkot, the summit is planned to be taken further to other cities, thus enhancing knowledge and skills of the Indian gems and jewellery industry.
