The All-India Gems and Jewellery Federation (GJF) and the Indian Institute of Jewellery (IIJ) together have created a 20-city wide educational-summit entitled ‘Vinaya’, solely for the gem and jewellery industry. The first two editions of the summit were recently conducted, first at Ahmedabad (29, April, 2010) followed by Rajkot (2, May 2010), with over 832 jewellers registering at the Ahmedabad summit and 356 at Rajkot. Vinaya has been conceived to professionalise the Indian gems and jewellery industry. %% It delivered interactive workshops and discussions on sales, jewellery designing amongst other topics. %% IIJ conducted workshops on topics including - Understanding Diamond Jewellery from its Program from Master Diamond Grader – Diamond Grading, Identification & Valuation; Over the Counter Sketching from Artistic – Basic Jewellery De; Grow with Gold from Master Creator – Jewellery Manufacturing Program; How a Retailer should understand its customer? From JOR - Jewellery in Organised Retail Management.
