GJEPC delegation meets Finance Minister to consider Presumptive Tax regime for increase in tax collection

The delegation has sought taxation policy reforms to enhance Ease of Business in Gems and Jewellery Sector

The 5th edition of Gujarat International Jewellery Show (GIJS) – 2013 ended on high note with more than 120 exhibitors from Rajkot, Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai participated in the three day show held at YMCA Ahmedabad. The jewellers showcased Gujarat’s expertise in Kundan, Diamond and Gold jewellery. Visitors saw extensive range and diversity of offerings. The show was largely attended, with representation from various states, between exhibitors, attending retailers and press. Inauguration for GIJS 2013 took place on 20th September, 2013 in presence of Sombhai Modi (Brother of Shri Narendra Modi, Honourable, Chief Minister of Gujarat); Meenakshiben Patel, Mayor, AMC; Hareshbhai Soni, Chairman, GJF; Shantibhai Patel, President, GJTCI; Shankarbhai Patel, President GCCI; Kamal Dayani, IAS, Industries Commissioner, Government of Gujarat; Zaveribhai, Regional Chairman GJF, M/s. Zaveri & Co.; Dr. Kiritbhai Solanki, Member of Parliament, Ahmedabad. Leading industrialist & trade members, GJTCI core committee and other eminent personalities remain present for the same. Shantibhai Patel, President welcomed all the dignitaries present and informed that this year small and medium enterprises were invited for showcasing their products. The show had Gold, Diamond and Kundan Jewellery stalls having uniform opportunity of presentation, designing and promotions for all exhibitors and not more than 2 stalls have been provided to each exhibitor. The mega event had been supported by Industries Commissioner, Government of Gujarat and Gujarat Tourism. The event started with lamp lighting, ribbon cutting ceremony by the eminent personalities present and exhibitor catalogue was launched.%% Meenakshiben Patel, Mayor, AMC, Industries Commissioner and other dignitaries present visited all the booths and applauded the efforts of Shri Shantibhai Patel and his team for such an excellent event and were happy to see the best of the best collection in Diamonds, Gold, Kundan, Pearls etc. by the renowned wholesalers and manufacturers at single place. They informed that for development of Gujarat & G & J Trade we would provide all necessary support and cooperation. Shantibhai Patel felicitated all the dignitaries with special kit and trophy. The Exhibition had two Halls – Hall 1 and Hall 1A at YMCA International Center, S.G. Highway, Ahmedabad. The three day event witnessed more than 5000 visitors pan India with visitors from Baharain, Dubai, press media etc. Along with the exhibition Fashion show was also organised to showcase top jewellery products. Shantibhai Patel, President, GJTCI thanked all the exhibitors, Government of Gujarat, Sponsors, Visitors, Press Media and the team behind this successful show. He also informed the trade members of the upcoming events during the closing ceremony: Organising B2C show in coming months, Participation in Dubai International Jewellery Week in December 2013, Excellence Award Function, Next B2B show in June 2014.
