Indian Jeweller unveils macro jewellery trends for 2023 at Prêt by Couture

The leading jewellery magazine hosted a grand fashion show to unveil trends at Taj Krishna

India’s leading jewellery trade publication, Indian Jeweller, hosted a fashion show to reveal  macro jewellery trends that will dominate the industry from the consumer's point of view in 2023 in Hyderabad today. The event saw a participation of 12 retailers from accross India. The retailers were from 10 cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chandigarh, Salem, Kanpur, Trishur, Vadodara, and Ludhiana. The show showcased around 70 pieces from retailers including AVR Swarnamahal, Tibarumals Jewellers by Sanjeev Gupta, A Jewels By Anmol, C.Krishnaih Chetty & Sons, PMJ Jewels, Narayan Jewellers by Ketan & Jatin Chokshi, Josalukkas, Choprasons Jewellery, Abaran Timeless Jewellery, Antara Jewellery Private Ltd and Sona Chandis.

The fashion show revealed trends with models wearing pieces that were in sync with the trends discovered by IJ. The jewellery showcased included heirloom and vintage pieces, futuristic/modern pieces, pieces that can be worn together (or stacked), temple jewellery with motifs of gods/goddesses, pieces with large colour gemstones, contemporary/everyday polki pieces, and solitaires, to name a few. The range of jewellery showcased was priced between Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 3 crores.

The fashion show was conceptualised to reveal broad themes discovered by Indian Jeweller magazine based on the evolving socio, economic and cultural contexts and the kind of impact it has on people’s purchase patterns. In line with this, themes such as Nextalgia, Expressive Expression, Universe Unlimited and Return to Thyself were unveiled at the fashion show. 

The event was powered by Couture India Show and sponsored by JB And Brothers (Loose Diamonds partner), Achal Jewels (Polki Jewellery partner), Associate Partners: SGL Labs and Jaipur Jewellery Show. The event was attended by chief guests from the jewellery industry, including industry experts and jewellery aficionados.

Speaking about the event, Arpit Kala, Organiser of the event, said, "The fashion show was a grand success and a testament to the dedication and hard work of the jewellers and their craftsmen. We are proud to showcase the macro jewellery trends for 2023 and provide retailers with a glimpse of what consumers can expect in the coming year."

All the participating retailers were acknowledged for being a "Trend Setter" when it comes to understanding jewellery and the pulse of their audience. They were felicitated with a trophy.

The fashion show featured 18 models from Mumbai, Delhi, and Goa, who walked the ramp in exquisite jewellery pieces. The event was a celebration of Indian jewellery and its timeless beauty. The jewellery showcased was a testament to the rich cultural heritage of India and its diverse artistic traditions. The show was compeered by Shivaani Sen.

Indian Jeweller Magazine has been hosting such events for the jewellery industry for many years. The magazine unveiled its Trend Forecast 2023 in line with Prêt by Couture, a B2B jewellery show with select manufacturers across India. IJ has also hosted "The Statement" in 2018, which was a B2C luxury, boutique jewellery exhibition.

The event was a grand success and a testament to the power of Indian jewellery and its timeless beauty. Indian Jeweller Magazine continues to be a pioneer in the jewellery industry, providing retailers and consumers with a glimpse of what is to come in the world of jewellery. The event was held on 4th March (Saturday), 2023, at Taj Krishna in Hyderabad.
